The COVID pandemic has affected the whole of India, specifically migrant daily wage earners. This group of people have lost means of earning an income. They are either stranded, in transit or have moved back to their villages. Due to their vulnerable position, they face several problems, most specifically lack of access to basic food and shelter.
With the financial support from us, the FMMSSS social service society distributed rice, dal, cooking oil, vegetables and soaps to 25 poor migrant families at Bheemadevarapally Mandal, Warangal Urban District, who have lost their livelihood due to the ongoing national lockdown announced by the Government for India as part of COVID-19 prevention.
The Local Government officials and public representatives of Bheemadevarapally Mandal, Warangal Urban District extended their support and cooperation in distributing these provisions to migrant families. Our volunteer, Ms. Deepa Karuna was also present at the distribution.
